Narrative Threads: Textile Arts Today

The Moody Center for the Arts
2023

Celebrating a new generation of international artists at the forefront of fiber arts, Narrative Threads: Fiber Art Today included work by twenty-two artists including Igshaan Adams, Hangama Amiri, Felipe Baeza, Diedrick Brackens, Josh Faught, Christina Forrer, Orly Genger, Ana María Hernando, Woomin Kim, Eric N. Mack, María Nepomuceno, Ernesto Neto, Nnenna Okore, Patrick Quarm, Chiharu Shiota, Do Ho Suh, Sagarika Sundaram, Ardeshir Tabrizi, Marie Watt, Qualeasha Wood, Billie Zangewa, and Sarah Zapata.

Our exhibition design sought to create a space that freely oscillated between open and intimate, where visitors could weave their own paths trasversing through threaded curtains which divided the space into three bands. The color sequencing of the curtains was intended to create depth and vibration when seen across.
